Năm 2018 sắp kết thúc và tôi không khỏi tự hỏi mình đã làm được những gì trong một năm vừa rồi.
Nói về “sự nghiệp” gốm của tôi, tôi cảm thấy “tâm đắc” nhất với ba điều:
- Có studio riêng cho các project về gốm: sau nhiều tháng làm bẩn và bừa nhà vì làm đồ gốm trong không gian bếp, và càng ngày càng có xu hướng lấn chiếm thêm không gian nấu ăn của bạn cùng nhà, tôi quyết định thuê một studio nhỏ trong một khu tập thể studio – là nơi tác nghiệp của nhiều nghệ sĩ trong nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau. Dự định ban đầu là studio sẽ chỉ có một bàn, một ghế, một giá phơi đồ, và studio trông rất gọn gàng vào ngày đầu tiên. Nhưng sau sáu tháng tôi đã tậu thêm khá nhiều dụng cụ, và không biết có phải là tín hiệu tốt hay không nhưng thời gian gần đây tôi đã bắt đầu nghĩ đến việc thuê một studio to hơn một chút, để chứa dc nhiều dụng cụ hơn, làm được nhiều đồ hơn, và có không gian để để được một cái lò nung nhỏ.
- Xây dựng website cho công việc làm gốm: có website nghĩa là phải có nội dung, có hình ảnh. Tất nhiên, sản phẩm, sự sáng tạo và kỹ năng của người làm gốm vẫn là những yếu tố quan trọng nhất. Việc phải giới thiệu và “tiếp thị” cho các sản phẩm của mình cả về mặt nội dung lẫn hình ảnh bắt tôi suy nghĩ và viết thành lời ý tưởng, cảm nghĩ, và viết về quá trình thực hiện của mỗi tác phẩm hay mỗi project. Sản xuất được 18 bài viết trên blog của Đất Sét, cả tiếng Anh và tiếng Việt trong vòng sáu tháng là một thành tích tôi cảm thấy khá hài lòng. Với một công việc toàn thời gian ở văn phòng, bên cạnh việc chuẩn bị cho đám cưới của mình, thật không hề dễ để tôi có thời gian đọc, hiểu và viết một vài bài viết khá chất lượng cho blog. Viết blog một cách nghiêm túc bằng tiếng Việt về một chủ đề tương đối cụ thể như thế này cũng là một “thử thách” đối với tôi, và tôi muốn mình rèn luyện kỹ năng này một cách cẩn thận và kiên nhẫn.
- Hoàn thành chuỗi tượng chân dung các em bé dân tộc Việt Nam: một project có ý nghĩa cá nhân sâu sắc đối với tôi. Đây là một trải nghiệm đầy thú vị khi tôi tự lên ý tưởng, tự tay tạo nên những điều độc đáo và khiến nhiều người khác quan tâm và thích thú. Tôi sẽ viết thêm về project này trong bài blog sau.
Có lẽ không thể khép lại 2018 mà không nhắc tới một sự kiện trọng đại trong cuộc đời tôi: đó là tôi kết hôn. Nếu thực hiện series tượng bằng gốm là một project chỉ bao gồm một đạo diễn, một “diễn viên” – là tôi, thì lên kế hoạch và chuẩn bị cho đám cưới là một điều hoàn toàn ngược lại. Vì rất nhiều lí do khác nhau, mà đám cưới nói chung, và chuẩn bị đám cưới của mình nói riêng, là một điều rất đặc biệt đối với tôi. Tôi đã chia sẻ nhiều về những kỷ niệm của bản thân trong suốt 6 tháng chuẩn bị đám cưới trên Instagram cá nhân, nên tôi sẽ không dài dòng thêm ở đây. Với đám cưới của mình, tôi có cơ hội thực hiện một vài ý tưởng đồ gốm nhỏ xinh – vừa đủ để thoả nguyện vọng làm một cái gì đó độc đáo và có ý nghĩa cho đám cưới của mình mà không bị chán hay “ngán” để vẫn có thể tiếp tục với các project về đồ gốm tiếp theo. Gia đình hai bên đều cực kỳ vui vẻ, mãn nguyện với đám cưới – đó là điều quan trọng nhất đối với tôi. Tôi cảm thấy có trách nhiệm, ràng buộc hơn khi giờ đây đã có gia đình, nhưng tôi cũng biết mình rất may mắn khi tìm được một người bạn đời quan tâm và ủng hộ tôi theo đuổi sở thích gốm của mình.
